Fees

Ghostwriting fees

Writing a book is complicated and takes a lot of time.

An average book of 50,000 to 60,000 words takes six to eight months to produce. It can take longer or take less time, but it is a full-time job. The fee is $5,000 a month.

What’s included: Adam’s full-time, undivided attention.  It includes interviews, writing the summary,  chapter outlines and completing the work.  It also includes changes along the way.

The book will have a big-picture edit that focuses on content, structure, flow and organization of ideas.

What’s not included: The cost of transcriptions, travel and incidentals related to the printing of drafts for review.

Photos and graphics. They are the responsibility of the client although we work with graphic artists to make charts and other related material publication friendly.

Editing and publishing the manuscript. My editor will do several rounds and levels of editing and package your book so it looks as good on the outside as the content does on the inside. She can also arrange printing and publication.

A ball park amount for the cost of editing, packaging and printing is between $15 – $25,000 depending on book length and number of copies.

Other fees:

The hourly rate for news commentary or opinion articles is $75 an hour with a minimum of four hours.
